New Yarn! Wool Single

Here is the sixth yarn that I would like to introduce you to:

It is 100% fine wool single. It feels similar to Lambs Pride worsted, just without the mohair. Though when it is felted it becomes incredibly soft and squishy! It has 240 yards of wooly yarn and would be suitable for a needle size of 7-9 US.

I chose this particular yarn because I wanted a staple yarn that would be ideal for a lot of different worsted weight projects. I knit my sample on size 11s and then washed it with one cycle through my washing machine. Its before measurements were 5 3/4" x 5" and its post-felting measurements are 5 3/4" x 3".

It would be ideal for hats, mittens, scarves, felted bags, felted bowls, or any other project that calls for worsted weight yarn.

I listed up 4 skeins of this yarn in my etsy shop. The 4 that are listed are Dragon Fire, Berry Pie, Sweet Pea, and Raspberry Espresso. So, let me know what you think! Blog contest details are listed here. Don't forget to check out the Wool Lace, Silk Sport, Wool/Silk Single, Silk Boucle, and Silky Sock.

Raspberry espresso is good, but I think I like Berry Pie better...

I probably would not use this yarn because it is worsted and a single. Gee, I am beginning to sound like a broken record; maybe I need to expand my horizons this year.

I'm not that keen on singles, but the berry pie is yummy-looking!

I would not use this yarn because I always find anything that is 100 % wool to be itchy and uncomfortable. Also, I really like the colors of the Dragon Fire, but not the Raspberry Espresso. Too dark.

Another pretty yarn! I'm not a fan of singles for many projects, but I think it would be great for felting.

I like berry pie the best - I think it would make a fabulous jacket (if I could afford that much) and like sweet pea second.

Very pretty. I don't know that I would buy it though. I have never tried singles, so I have no idea how they knit up. The colors are great though, especially the Sweet Pea. I love the different colors in that one.

I think this is great and would buy it to felt. The colors are fabulous. Teri

would this be soft enough to wear against the skin for hats and scarves? the colors would tempt me to try. :)

I just finished a Booga Bag. I can't imagine how gorgeous that Sweet Pea colorway would look felted up. I love felting.

A good worsted yarn is a must, and singles are great! I would especially like something like this in a semi-solid, with not too much variegation. That sort of thing lends to patterns in knitting better.

Love this! I could totally see a sweater or felted bag.

I like these a lot! Wool is always good! I would make a sweater or a pullover with these (well, if I could afford it, as purple-power said). Berry Pie is my favorite, and I like Sweet Pea, too. Dragon fire is yummy, but I probably wound't buy it, as I'm not sure what project to realize with such a strong color combination.

I love all four colorways. It's a four-way tie. I could see using this yarn for felting.

Ok, I am not usually a fan of 100% wool, but the Raspberry Espresso is one of the most gorgeous shades I have ever seen!
