New Yarn! Silky Sock
Here is the fifth yarn that I would like to introduce you to:

It is 50% Merino Wool and 50% silk. It is incredibly silk soft. I just love merino yarn and mixed with silk it is absolutely heavenly. It has 480 yards of incredible sock yarn and would be suitable for a needle size of 1-3 US.

I chose this particular yarn because I wanted a total luxury sock yarn. This yarn is definitely that. The merino wool is incredibly soft and mixed with the silk makes this yarn pure heaven. I couldn't believe it, but machine washing this yarn actually makes it softer. It felts a little bit with washing or, more to the point, the merino blooms making an extra extra soft sample. My suggestion would be to knit socks a little bigger than normal and then wash them to get the perfect size. This yarn will definitely keep your feet toasty warm. I knit my sample on size 2s and then washed it with one cycle through my washing machine. Its before measurements were 2 1/2" x 2" and its post-felting measurements are 2 1/4" x 1 3/4".
It would be ideal for socks, lace shawls & scarves, & baby things.
I listed up 4 skeins of this yarn in my etsy shop. The 4 that are listed are Bad Girl, Day at the Fair, Wild Violets, & Neopolitan. So, let me know what you think! Blog contest details are listed here. Don't forget to check out the Wool Lace, Silk Sport, Wool/Silk Single and Silk Boucle.

This is a beautiful blend for yarn. I love working with merino/silk blends. The silk gives a shine, but merino gives stretch and a memory for patterns. Since I don't do socks (I can hear all the gasps out there) I would use it for my lace shawls and scarves. Again, though, because I do lacework, I prefer less variegated so the wild violet colorway is my favorite.
I am having so much fun waiting for the new yarns and then giving my opinion!! I will be sad when this contest is over.

I would use this yarn because it looks so soft and smooth, and the colors match the softness of the material.

Yeeeaaaeeessss! I would be surprised if this yarn wasn't the most popular so far. I still love the wild violets colorway. I can't decide if I like the neopolitan or the bad girl better. I like day at the fair too, but it wouldn't be my first choice. These are all winners.

Mmmm! Wool and silk. Like chocolate and peanut butter. Yes, I would buy this yarn. While I'm attracted blues, greens and purples, I really like the red, orange and yellow you have going in the dragon fire.

Wow, now this is gorgeous! I love the Wild Violets colorway. and I am impressed with the fact that the size really didn't change all that much after washing. Takes away much of the fear of "oops, I threw them in accidentally". This looks quite luxurious. Once I get the stash used up that I have, I will be seriously considering a skien for myself.

I am currently knitting my first sock right now. Out of cotton because I worry that a 100% wool sock would drive me crazy. First off, the colorways are awesome. Bad Girl makes me happy. I think a merino and silk blend could be a great sock yarn for me.

Beautiful! Of all your yarns, I believe this to be my
favorite. The colors are very nice. Merino yarn
holds stitch definition quite well and in time, silk
stretches just a bit so if knitted on a small (1 or 2) needle, the stitches would 'pop'.
