Stockings

Finally had time and good lighting to photograph the stockings I made for Christmas. Sigh....it's been a busy year!

I am really happy with how they turned out. I have the patterns mostly written, but I've decided unless there is a huge demand for them that I'm not going to finish them off. I have the charts for the images done, but I still have to make letter charts and those are a pain. It isn't worth it when maybe one or two people might buy the pattern. We'll see how I feel towards fall when people need things like this for Christmas. If I'm wrong, please let me know. I would definitely put the work in if people are interested!

Gatsby Necklaces

So for Mother's Day I had the brilliant idea to knit my mother not 1, but 3 necklaces. Technically I knit 4, but I had to keep the purple one for myself:

I didn't have time before I shipped them to take photos of them with the finished clasp. Still I think they turned out so beautiful! The pattern is Gatsby Necklace. (Rav links: green, blue, purple, & copper) The yarn is Berrocco Seduce in various colors. I got my beads from Fusion Beads in Seattle. I really liked their selection and bead mixes. One bag makes one necklace with a little leftover, which is good, because I am really good at dropping them. The yarn was a little fiddly to work with, though made a gorgeous finished product. The pattern was fun, but I don't think I'm going to go into production any time soon!

In shop news: Knot Another Hat now carries MIO Columbia Aran. You can find it here: https://www.knotanotherhat.com/product.cfm?p=2623

Mt Hood Ear Flap Hat Revisited!

I decided to remake a pattern (rav link) I designed years ago. Originally the pattern went with my Twist yarn, which has long since been discontinued. I loved the pattern and so I decided to make it over with my Superwash Worsted. I changed the gauge because I feel like the Superwash Worsted is on the light side of worsted. It feels so good to knit it on 6s, so that's what I did. I knit this out of half a skein in color Crown Point. I think it would be a great hat for snow boarders or skiers. Look at how good it looks with bright colors!

Of course the little miss has to get in on the action! She loves hats and immediately had to put it on during my photo shoot. This is the small adult size (21"). I think she has a ways to go before she grows into it!

Preview

A little of what I am working on! The dark is a new fingering weight yarn I'm really excited about. In the buckets is the yarn for a new wholesale account. I'm really excited about that part too! So many fun things going on right now! I can't wait to show them all off soon!

Update!

Since writing the above I got 2 more swifts, which means I can wind 3 skeins of yarn at a time! The yarn is MIO Columbia Aran and is now down at Knot Another Hat! I'll let you know when she gets it out on the shelves!

Photo Friday: Mother's Day!

This is what I accomplished for Mother's Day. All the pots filled with dirt and plants. The front entry mostly cleaned up! So happy to look at this as I go in and out of the house!

CGFF Treats

I'm finally able to share my awesome finds from the CGFF! I had to wait because one bundle of the wool felt was for my mom for Mother's Day. Fingers crossed she has the package I sent her by now!

I got 2 bundles of handpainted wool squares from Becoming Art. I'm thinking about making felt food for the kids or something else fun. I bet there are a ton of uses for them! Also, 2 patterns she had in her booth. I'm totally drooling over the Watercourse Sweater by Carina Spencer. I want it out of the yarn she used and everything! Now to save up for it! Then I got 2 hair clips for my daughter from Marmalade Creations. She loves them and insists on having both of them in her hair at the same time! It is so cute!

I am currently up to my elbows in dyeing yarn! Just the way I want to be! I have new yarn and a new wholesale account, so I'm very excited. I'm hoping to stay up with the blog, but if it is spotty, that will be why!

Very Fiery Blanket

As promised, the blanket I finished for the boy child!

For this blanket we dyed the yarn together. He really loves orange! The yarn is my Superwash Worsted in color Snapdragon with Dragon Fire border.

The pattern is the same as the one I made my daughter, which is the Tweed Baby Blanket by Jared Flood (rav link). I just took the border and drew the same chart on graph paper, with the increases at the corners. Then I just put in increases and decreases to make points instead of waves. I really like the finished look.

He really likes it. He has a cold this week, so it was finished just in time for him to snuggle under it. He even told me it is one of the things which makes him happy. =)
