Robin Finished!

I finished Robin just in time for Oregon Flock and Fiber this weekend! I'll have it on display in my booth!

I kept knitting until I ran out of one of the colors of my Superwash Sport yarn. In this case it was the Mountain Sunset. I was just short of finishing section 5. What I love about this pattern is you can stop anywhere and a beautiful shawl will form. If you finish a section it will be more curvy if you stop in the middle of a section it will be more triangular. Just amazing!

It is so pretty. I definitely see myself wearing it this fall and winter. I can see where it would dress up just about any outfit and keep me warm! The Superwash Sport is super cuddly and so fun to knit up. I have so many ideas for projects and patterns to knit up with this yarn. I love it!

Definitely come and check it out this weekend at OFFF! My booth is out on the lawn. Also I plan on having a huge fiber sale with Merino, BFL, Mixed BFL, Superwash Merino, and Superwash BFL all $10 per 4oz of gorgeous handpainted fiber. There may be a few other things on sale too! Make sure to stop by and say hi!

Leafy Bandana Cowl

I am so happy to finally be able to announce this pattern. I have been working on it for sometime, but wanted to make sure it was perfect before announcing it to the world!

This is the Leafy Bandana Cowl. It is knit out of one skein of my new Chunky Baby Alpaca in color Owen. I love how the subtle blues and browns play so well together in this. It is currently for sale on Ravelry. I'm doing some work on the pattern pages on the website, so it probably won't be there until after OFFF.

Speaking of OFFF, it's this next weekend! So if you want to see the cowl in  person, pet the pretty yarn, and buy the pattern there, I will have it in my booth on the lawn. I have printed out a few patterns to have for sale there too. Hopefully there will be enough!

Blair's MadTosh Socks

I didn't make a lot of progress on Robin this week. My husband has been feeling under the weather and asked if I could finish his socks. So I dropped everything and went to knitting on his socks.

These are out of tosh dk in colors Baltic (blue) and Nutmeg (gold). I knit them on size 3US addi turbos. I like to keep a pair on the needles at all times. I have his next pair wound up and ready to go. I just need to get them cast on.

I think for Robin I should have it finished by next week looking at how much yarn is left. I'm so excited about seeing it finished. It is so pretty!

New! MoSilk Lace Yarn

The second new yarn of the fall is MoSilk Lace!

When I go to buy an Indie handpainted yarn I want something that is truly special and luxury. Well this yarn definitely fits that description. It is 30% silk and 70% kid mohair. It is fluffy and soft and absolutely gorgeous. I can already see it knit up as a scarf or an combined with another yarn. Can you imagine Silky Sock paired with this lovely yarn? Mmm...so pretty! Each skein has a generous 430 yards per 50 gram skein. The yarn practically floats, yet it is sturdy and knits up well. It is up in the shop now and will also be available to pet at Oregon Flock and Fiber!

Robin: Section 4

I finished section 4. I love each new section. So pretty! I have been sick with a head cold this week. I know it's bad when I don't even have the energy to knit! So we'll see how far I get by next week. I have a feeling I won't have section 5 done by then.

New Yarn! Chunky Baby Alpaca

I am very happy to announce a brand new yarn base: Chunky Baby Alpaca!

This yarn is so incredibly soft and cuddly. I love it! I see so many possibilities for this yarn, like cowls, hats, and scarves! They will knit up super quick too! The yarn is 100% Baby Alpaca, 110 yards per 100 gram skein. I have dyed up a few colors which are now in the shop. I'll also have it at Oregon Flock and Fiber if you want to squish it in person!

Robin - Section 3

I am through 3 sections of the shawl. So fart I seem to be able to get a section done a week. Of course each section gets a bit bigger, so it gets a bit harder each week. I'm thinking it will be 6 sections in the end or so. I plan on continuing until I run out of yarn or just have enough to bind off. So far I really love this shawl and the gentle rhythm of the stripes.

Skein Winder For Sale!

I got a new fantastic 3 skein electric winder this last week, so I am going to sell my fantastic work horse of a single electric skein winder. Here are some lovely photos:

Includes artwork from my children that could easily be stained or painted over.

This skein winder works as good as the day I bought it 6 or so years ago. The only thing I have replaced is the little counter arm on the counter in all that time. I actually used a magnetic counter I am keeping, so this counter arm has not been used at all. New they are selling these for $440, because mine is used I am selling it for $300.
