New Yarn! Chunky Alpaca Boucle

Here is the seventh yarn that I would like to introduce you to:

It is 65% superfine alpaca 32%wool 3% nylon chunky boucle yarn. I have never seen another yarn like this one. It is a super soft bulky weight. It softens up even more when it is washed. I ran it through 1 wash cycle and the yarn really bloomed. I think it would take 2 or more to fully felt. It has 60 yards of chunky yarn and would be suitable for a needle size of 9-11 US.

I chose this particular yarn because I really liked how different it looked and how soft and squishy it was from the beginning. I knit my sample on size 11s and then washed it with one cycle through my washing machine. Its before measurements were 5" x 4" and its post-felting measurements are 5 1/4" x 4".

It would be ideal for hats, scarves, sweaters, or any other project that calls for bulky weight yarn. I can totally picture using it for a child's sweater or jacket. Maybe even a squishy warm sweater for myself... now there is a happy thought.

I listed up 4 skeins of this yarn in my etsy shop. The 4 that are listed are Wild Violets, Raspberry Lemonade, Provence, and Mountain Sunset. So, let me know what you think! Blog contest details are listed here. Don't forget to check out the Wool Lace, Silk Sport, Wool/Silk Single, Silk Boucle, Silky Sock, and Wool Single.

love the colors, but just not my style. A little too chunky, I think.

I like these, even though I normally don't use this kind of yarns. Wild Violet is such a ovely color, and I like Province too. I probably would make a scarf with these, for me it's a bit too chunky for a sweater for me. Raspberry lemonade and Mountain sunset would make lovely baby sweaters, though.

I have only knit a fw projects with this yarn. Not my fav but i do like to mix in texture on some projects. The lavendar/green are my 2 fav colors, the blues remind me of when i used to teach scuba in hawaii. beautiful

This kind of yarn is not for me.

Chunky isn't my style. I think I pass on this one. Although, the raspberry lemonade is University of Montana colors! Teri

I love the material of this yarn. I think it would make a fun sweater or mittens, especially with the bright colors.

I'm not one for boucle. I love your colors as usual, but I doubt I would buy this. Looks soft, though, I'm sure someone would love it!

I don't think I would buy this. It is too heavy for me although it does take the dyes beautifully.

I still like the wild violets and mountain sunset colors, but I can't see myself ever using bulky alpaca boucle yarn. Sorry.

Not my taste at all

I wouldn't use a yarn like this.

I'm another one who isn't fond of this yarn.

Well yuck is a bit harsh, but I don't like it either.

Definitely not a winner. I'm not at all into boucle.

I think it's just not my thing. Maybe for something for a baby. I've got some boucle in my stash and it just sits there.

Nice colours but not my style of yarn. I can't imagine what I would use it for.

I agree that yuck was a bit harsh. I am not typically a boucle person, but I can see it knit up quickly into a simple baby sweater or hat. Would be nice and soft. Totally digging the wild violet color.

Not my style. I just don't like boucle.

Pretty, but I don't like working with "bumpy" yarns.

I really don't care for boucle, and especially not for chunky boucle. I can't think of anything I would use this for.

I think it's really nice
As I said before I like his kind of yarn. The only hting is tha I'm not sure about the colours. The only one that I like Provence one.

I like this blend. With the alpaca, the yarn would be a little lighter (in weight) than the wool. I like
the colors.

I'm not into boucle, but I could see it making a fun scarf or mittens

This is not something I would use. I prefer the other new yarns:)

Nice colors. It's possible that I might use it for a blanket or shawl, but probably not.
