It is 100% extrafine Merino Wool lace. It is absolutely exquisite! It is soft and squishy. I really love how it dyes up. It has 1235 yards and would be suitable for a needle size of 1US or smaller.
I chose this particular yarn because I wanted a lace yarn that has a slight lower price point than the alpaca lace that I already sell. The wool is also less fuzzy than the alpaca and has a crisp look to it. The wool is soft, but not the fuzzy soft of the alpaca. The wool has slightly less yardarge, but that is because of a slight shrinkage due to dyeing that I will have to keep in mind when I do custom orders.
It would be ideal for lace shawls or scarves. Pretty much anything calling for a lace weight yarn. Believe me I could definitely see myself knitting a shawl for myself out of this yarn.

I love the lace wool. All I knit with anymore is laceweight or at the most fingering weight. I especially love the turtle and bordeaux colors. The other two are a little too varigated for my tastes. I can't wait to see the other 9 yarns that are coming.

I would definitely use this yarn. I think the wool lace yarns are a little less formal than the fuzzier ones and are great for more day to day shawls that you might just want to throw on with some jeans and a sweater or something.
I agree with Amy. the lace wool is gorgeous and I'm more of a semi-solids lace girl (for the most part) though I know of those who have knit beautiful with variegated.
However, right now I have a hold on acquiring more lace-weight as there are 3 shawls active on the needles (er, semi active) and 3 skeins waiting for attention. At this rate...
But it is pretty and something I hope to be able to add to my stash again soson.
I don't knit lace often, but when I do I usually like the less-fuzzy look of wool lace (and its tendency not to stick to clothing as much as fuzzy yarn) so this is definitely an appealing yarn. I love your colours, too.
I love this lace yarn so much! The bordeaux is especially beautiful, but the sea turtle might just edge it. I'm with the others: I'd love a shawl or wrap in a less-fuzzy, warmer yarn that had these lovely colors.

I just went to your etsy shop and looked at the wool lace and loved the Sea Turtle colorway. If I hadn't gone on a yarn buying moratorium until April, I would scarf that skein right up, but alas, I have, so no yarn.
I think the Bordeaux was gorgeous as well, although the other one was very bright, at least for me.
I think that the wool lace is absolutely gorgeous. The colors are great (I love your close up shots). But, would I buy the yarn? Probably not. I am not a lace knitter (yet). If I were doing a secret pal thing though, I would totally consider it if my partner liked lace.

Love the wool lace, although I must say that for most lace patterns, a semi-solid or solid works better.
I love the sea turtle, soft colors, doesn't look too variagated for lace.
I've never used lace weight yarn. I just started my first sock and that seems very small to me. Lace still seems a bit scary. But your colors are beautiful. I have to say out of these 4, "Bordeaux" is my favorite. Those wine colors would make a lovely shawl to go over my little black dress to add some kick to the outfit

Very pretty!! I haven't knit anything from lace weight yarn yet, I'm a little intimidated by it, so honestly, this wouldn't be my first choice to buy. As of now, I'm getting into the groove with socks and fingering weight yarns. The colors are beautiful, very appealing. I especillay love the Bordeaux!

This yarn looks lovely. I especially like the bordeaux. The turtle is OK, but green is not my favorite color by a long shot. I like subtle colorways and the orange and yellow is not my cup of tea at all.
I really like the look of the bordeaux colorway. The other colors are not my favs. I do use laceweight, although I prefer fingering or heavier, but it would be lovely as a shawl.
Beautiful colors. I have way too much laceweight in my stash already, or. . . :)
I would choose one of the more tone-on-tone colors, though, because the lace patterns would show up more clearly.

I am not a big lace weight fan so I would probably not order this, and I like the bordeaux colorway, but not the others. I would be much more likely to order the silk than this.
The bordeaux looks pretty to me but I am shawled out, if you know what I mean.
I have given up on laceweight - I even hate rolling it into balls. So I am unlikely to get this although it does look really pretty in the bordeaux colorway.
Lace? Eeep. (Sorry, even though I know how to knit lace, it's never been something I feel confident about). That being said, I think a wool shawl made with Bordeaux for my mom for Mother's Day would be one of those perfect presents. It'd be a little token of appreciation for her teaching me to knit when I was little, impatient, and annoying.
I am so so on this one. colors are muted on the semi solid, which is nice, but somehow not special. I would look and even oogle, but not buy.
The Sea Turtle colourway is gorgeous and looks like it'll be nice and subtle. I love the idea of a wool lace. For lacework, alpaca has nothing on wool, in my not so humble opinion! Alpaca is lovely, but just doesn't have the memory that wool does!

I agree with other commenters - less fuzzy is good, and semi-solid is good. I love lace yarn with subtle variations -shades of blue, etc. The reds at the top of the post are great!

Í love the colors! I could definitely imagine to buy Bordeaux and Sea Turtle yarns. And maybe even the Dragon Fire to make something for a friend (my own blond hair unfortunately looks green if I use that kind of colors).
I love the bordeaux colorway. That is definitely a happy accident. I could see myself knitting a shawl out of that. I also really like the dragon fire color, but I'm not sure if I would really use it in lace weight.
I like wool for lace. I think this is a nice yarn. I tend to shy away from lace projects in bold varigated colors though. I don't mind the subtle shading for a semi-solid, but I worry about the pattern getting lost in strongly varigated yarns.

That looks really lovely. Of all the new yarns I looked at here I'd probably like this one the best -- almost makes me want to try lace right this second. The other yarns you posted seem a bit too novelty for my tastes.
i love the bordeaux color--not a fan of greens and the others are a little too variegated for me for lace.
I love lace! However, I always look for less variegation in the colors so the pattern can show up more. No use putting in all the work for the pattern and it doesn't show up.
It looks beautiful. The truffle could easyly be my pick for a shawl.
Oh, my god. This wool is heaven for me. If I could, I would buy all of the Bordeaux that you have. All of the colors are excellent, though. I also think the price is very good, and once I am able to do some stash enhancement, I will be coming back to your shop.
I like the color saturation to the wool fiber.
I'm not a fan of lace knitting but I would consider double stranding the varigated colors with a
solid color and perhaps use it for fair isle knitting.
It is very interesting for me to read this post. Thanks for it. I like such themes and everything that is connected to them. I would like to read a bit more soon.
