Ayame

Chrissy Gardiner has out a new book and this time it is an e-book called Indie Lace!

This shawl is called Ayame. From the pattern: "This luxurious little triangular wrap is named for the Japanese Iris (the little eye-shaped lace motifs remind me both of an Iris flower’s bloom and the iris of a human eye). The pattern consists of a short repeat edged with a simple eyelet border, making it easy to expand into a larger shawl."

The yarn is my Angora Lace in color Smokey Rose. It only takes one skein to make this shawl! Chrissy gifted this shawl to me for my booth. She knit a second one in Berry Pie, which you can see pictured with the pattern on Ravelry. Then her daughter liked it so much she had to knit a third one out of Berry Pie!

You can see this shawl and more at the Columbia Gorge Fiber Festival April 19 - 21 (that's next week!) in Hood River, Oregon!
